Yorkshire companies join forces to help reduce fuel costs for local hauliers

Truck Technics of Leyburn has recently gained the approval of North Yorkshire based company GSPK Multifuel Technology as a distributor for the successful GSPK Dual Fuel System.

The Dual Fuel System, developed over a six year period, combines diesel and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) fuel management systems for commercial Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV’s), to deliver hauliers a significant 12-15% potential saving in fuel costs. The GSPK Dual Fuel System is manufactured by GSPK Multifuel Technology, located in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire.

GSPK chairman, Graham Keddie said, “GSPK Dual Fuel System has been fitted to over 500 HGV’s spanning a range of customers from single operators to fleets with users in the UK, Australia and Europe. With fuel prices the main overhead for haulage and logistics firms, our system makes a real difference in reducing costs for hauliers.”

Truck Tehnics a partnership between Metcalfe Farms and Ken Tyrala, has invested £180,000 in the construction of a purpose built workshop at Washfold Farm, Leyburn, servicing commercial vehicles and offers a 24hour breakdown service.

Ken Tyrala said, “Truck Technics has attracted local customers and companies from across the North of England. Our business has grown through recommendations and word-of-mouth amongst local operators. “

Business Partner Brian Metcalfe of Metcalfe Farms added, “Our new partnership with GSPK Multifuel Technology is an important step forward in offering our current and potential new customers a means of cost saving which in this current climate is paramount. We also intend achieving our aim of being the best commercial vehicle workshop in North Yorkshire. ”
