In today’s budget the Chancellor has stated that fuel duty will increase by 2p per litre from 1st October 2007. Although the increase has been deferred for six months, it is yet another rise for one of the most significant costs any haulier faces, putting yet more pressure on margins – especially compared to operators from the continent who buy their fuel before coming into the UK.
Although the duty differential between LPG and diesel will be reduced by 1p per litre, the actual difference in prices for the two bunkered fuels remains significant. This means that operators wanting to do something about fuel costs can act immediately to bring their costs down by installing the GSPK Dual Fuel System. Not only will they decrease their costs by at least 10% (typical customers save around 15%), but they will also be using a greener fuel which cuts emissions.
